Hey there! How was Labor Day weekend for you guys?
For me, two words:




ANIME. VEGAS.





It was nothing short of AWESOME!! Let me know if you went. I’m ranting a little here cuz here’s how the days went.


Day1: The day I cosplayed as Okama!Sanji from One Piece. …I don’t even think words describe how much I loved this one. But, getting back on track, I did meet a lot of awesome cosplayers, like a Bloody!Rock Lee and hung out with… Okay I can’t remember them all, but I did hang out with a LOT of awesome people. I also saw , but not anywhere else. What the heck, man?

This was also the day I started my volunteer as a techie, mostly as a sound-mixer and light-person in the large Multi-purpose room. Yes, I saw some trailers of anime I now really, REALLY want to watch (Sgt. Frog, anyone?) I also saw the last J-Rock band, a singer who’s name escapes me. But, I swear to you, he looked like an Asian David Bowie from the Labyrinth. I wish I was kidding, but I’m not. -_-;;; But, I spent most my time in the Dealer’s Hall, so I spent most of my money that day.


Day2: I was the girl in a Danny Phantom shirt. Yeah……. What? The Okama!Sanji cosplay hurt from yesterday, so I took this one to relax. I spent most my day working techie-stuff (the guy I worked under in that booth was SO freakin’ thin and precise I was kinda worried he’d crash). Watching some more sneak peeks was great, and the guy wasn’t kidding in saying “Sgt. Frog is just like if the guy who writes Sponge-Bob wrote Invader Zim instead.” And yes, yes, yes…… I was at the Naruto/Death Note Live Commentary Panel. I love hearing all their comments, and all three of them (Yuri Lowenthal, Tara Platt and Brad Swaile) are just amazing to be with. And YES, I saw the Steve/Yuri kiss. (As if Yuri’s orientation needs EVEN MORE questioning… )And while I hate Naruto and midly-like DN, I still love their odd commentary. THE CAKE!!

Anywho, I wasn’t here for the whole day; I had to get going around 2 so I could make a Guam Liberation party. My step-dad is from the islands, and well… come on, I had to be with family. It was fun however, and I leave this parting note: if there is anything with the words “Islander” and “ Party ” in it, there is going to be FOOD. And I’m not taking “oh-it’s-a-picnic-small-buffet” food, I mean “enough-to-feed-the-whole-island-of-Guam-plus-some” FOOD. Still, it was yummy. ^_^



Day3: Went back to AV as Gangster!Ed. (Wow, I’m abusing the poor ! too much.) Had a lot more free time then I thought I would, so I stayed on the safe side in the Dealer’s Hall again. More window shopping. Bleh. I did happen to see Steve Blum though! He is just one of the most awesome and nicest guys I’ve met. Plus, (WARNING, slight story ramble) I saw him do something so extremely cute, it will stick with me forever. While playing around, he happened to say something in his dark-scary Wolverine voice. And it scared a little kid to crying. He saw, he heard, and he said in the sweetest Guilmon voice I’ve heard to date, “Oh, I-I’m sorry” and calmed the little one down. (STORY END!!) It was adorable!

Anyway, afterwards, I helped with two more panels, “The Future of Voice Actors” (which just turned into a random TALK PANEL with Jon Klien, Jon Osbourne, and Jerry Jewell) and the Tweeny Witches/Nanoha Live Commentary. After that… Surprisingly, nothing else.



Okay, I gotta get back to work (Danny’s FIRIN” HIZ LAZER!!!), so until next time, drive safe, and eat yur yams. At least with marshmallows.
